The NCC Education Level 3 Diploma in Business (L3DB) is designed for learners who wish to develop a strong foundation in business and progress towards higher-level business studies.
The qualification introduces learners to important areas of modern business, including business fundamentals, financial forecasting and accounting, organisational structures and specialist areas such as entrepreneurship, marketing, business communication and eBusiness.
Learners complete three core units and at least one elective unit. Depending on the elective selected, the qualification carries between 67 and 72 credits.

Advanced Basics in Business
This unit introduces learners to fundamental business concepts and the different types of business organisations. Learners develop their understanding of how businesses operate and examine important factors that influence business activities and decision-making.
Developing Financial Forecasting and Accounting in Business
This unit develops learners’ understanding of financial information and its importance in business planning and decision-making. Learners explore accounting concepts, financial forecasting and the use of financial information to understand and assess business performance.
Developing Organisation Structure
This unit explores how organisations are structured and how different organisational structures support business activities. Learners examine organisational functions, roles and responsibilities and develop an understanding of how different parts of an organisation work together.
Elective Units
Learners must complete at least one of the following elective units to achieve the required qualification credit value.
Developing Entrepreneurship Skills
This unit introduces learners to the knowledge, skills and characteristics associated with entrepreneurship. Learners explore business ideas, entrepreneurial opportunities and some of the key considerations involved in developing and establishing a business venture.
Marketing Principles
This unit introduces learners to fundamental marketing principles and the role of marketing within an organisation. Learners explore how businesses understand their markets and customers and how marketing activities can contribute towards achieving organisational objectives.
Communication in Business
This unit develops learners’ understanding of effective communication within a business environment. Learners explore different forms and methods of business communication and consider how appropriate communication contributes to professional relationships and organisational activities.
Developing eBusiness
This unit introduces learners to electronic business and the ways in which digital technologies can support business activities. Learners explore the development and application of eBusiness and consider its importance within the modern business environment.
Successful completion of the NCC Education Level 3 Diploma in Business, with a minimum grade of Pass, enables learners to progress to NCC Education Level 4 Business qualifications.
The qualification therefore provides a structured pathway for learners who wish to continue their business education at a higher level. Following progression through the appropriate higher-level qualifications, learners may pursue further higher education opportunities in business and related disciplines, subject to the entry and admissions requirements of the relevant institution.
